In these lessons, children joyfully discover the lives of great Bible heroes from the Old Testament. As they listen to exciting stories, they imagine themselves as these heroes and begin to dream of doing brave and faithful things for God in the future. This age is especially well suited for learning Bible chronology. Children ages 7–8 explore Old Testament stories from the calling of the patriarchs to the settlement in the Promised Land.
Welcome! We are happy to introduce our program for children ages 7–8!
What we will talk about in our lessons:
At the beginning of the year:
Briefly review the story of Creation and the Fall
Then:
Discover the wonderful plan of our Heavenly Father, created to bring us back to a beautiful, eternal life with Him in Heaven
According to His plan:
God chose faithful helpers: Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob
He grew a great nation in Egypt
He revealed Himself to His people in the wilderness, taught them wise commandments, and made them strong and courageous
Just as He promised Abraham, God brought His people into a beautiful land and blessed their lives
As we travel through the pages of the Bible, children will use “Bible Timeline” posters to help them remember events in the correct order.
In our lessons, children will also:
Talk about important topics that matter to 7–8-year-olds
Learn memory verses and psalms
Write, draw, and color
Work with modeling clay, cut, and glue
Take part in friendly competitions and active games
