In our lessons, we will learn:
Section #1 — “Parents and Children”
This section explores Old Testament lessons about relationships between older and younger generations. Through the lives of biblical characters—Nebuchadnezzar and his grandson Belshazzar, David and Job’s fourth friend, Absalom, and the sons of Rechab—students discover the meaning and importance of the Fifth Commandment and see how God desires generations to honor and learn from one another.
Section #2 — “The Ministry of the Old Testament Prophets”
Students explore Isaiah’s prophecies concerning different kingdoms, Daniel’s prophecies about times and seasons, the books of Haggai and Malachi, and the prophetic Psalms of David.
As students see how these prophecies were fulfilled in their appointed time, their faith in God’s Word grows stronger. The fulfillment of God’s promises in the past gives us confidence that His promises about our wonderful future life in Heaven will also come true!
Section #3 — “The Ministry of the Holy Spirit Through the Apostle Paul”
As we study the Book of Acts, we see how the Holy Spirit, who came to earth on the Day of Pentecost, transformed Saul, a zealous Pharisee, into Paul, a devoted Apostle of Jesus Christ.
We discover that the Christian life is filled not only with God’s wonderful miracles, but also with challenges, opposition, and obstacles along the way. These lessons help students understand the reality of the spiritual battle between the kingdom of darkness and the Kingdom of Light—and point them to the certain victory of the Cross of Calvary and the Kingdom of Heaven!
Section #4 — “Great Turning Points in Church History”
The final three topics give students a brief introduction to the history of Christianity: from the time of the Apostles to Constantine the Great, from Constantine to Martin Luther, and from Luther’s Reformation to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at the beginning of the twentieth century.
Together, we reflect on the relationship between the Church and government, the times in which we live, the importance of trusting the Word of God, and our own part in God’s great plan of salvation.
As we journey through the pages of the Bible, we will come to know God more deeply, learn to talk with Him simply and sincerely, and look toward the future with faith and confidence!
